Bamboo

Bamboo is a very famous music band in the Philippines especially among the youth, young people follow the band’s style of music and they play the band’s songs anywhere and almost every time. Bamboo is a multi-awarded music band and they have been around for quite some time. They always go on tours and perform in different TV shows and other gatherings in and out of the country. They also stage different concerts all throughout the year.

Bamboo is also known for writing and performing songs that are very nationalistic and with very smart and powerful lyrics. With the band’s popularity and influence to the Filipino people, their music will have its home in every Filipino for a very long time.

Nirvana

If you are a big music buff then you definitely know Nirvana and Kurt Cobain. Nirvana was the most popular rock band in the late 80’s to the early 90’s, even after the tragic and very early death of band leader and lead vocalist Kurt Cobain in 1994, their songs continued its success, and actually became more successful since Kurt Cobain’s death was widely discussed and it was highly controversial in the music industry and in the world.

Though Nirvana disbanded, some of its members are still very active in the music industry and Nirvana’s songs continue influencing young people and the new breed of musicians and they will be forever remembered.

R.E.M

R.E.M is the first band who became popular under the umbrella of alternative music. The band, with lead vocalist Michael Stipe was formed in Athens. The band became very popular not because of TV appearances or concerts but through regular touring and the love given to them by college radios. After reaping the fruit of their labor through underground music R.E.M surprised the whole world with their very powerful song “The One I Love”, that is when Warner Bros. made them sign a contract.

R.E.M. was inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last 2007 and they are still loved by many solid R.E.M fans all over the world, Losing My Religion and Everybody Hurts and other songs are still widely played worldwide.

Oasis

Oasis managed to stay in the music industry amidst the very competitive world of music with all new artists emerging from all over the world. Music is highly changeable since the people’s taste for songs and musicians vary from time to time, depending on the mood and what’s happening around. Being able to thrive and still produce music is a feat not everybody can do. The Oasis with its lead vocalist Noel Gallagher provides the world of entertainment with alternative music like no other.

This Oasis song “Little by Little” became very controversial but is still supported by millions of Oasis fans worldwide.
